Well Like I said Last week in my super short E-mail, I have a new companion. Sister Borja is from Paraguay and is also the 2nd youngest of 7 and also has a sibling on a Spanish speaking mission! We continue to find more and more things in common. Though she grew up speaking Spanish, her English is AMAZING! She went to Utah for a year before she came on her mission to study English and has been out for 7.5 months. She has such a strong testimony and we get along so well! I really love her and learn from her each day!
On Tuesday after transfers, we went to the Flamm's home for dinner. We love going to members homes and getting to know them better. After dinner and a lesson we enjoyed watching the new missionaries compete against Eric in the initiation race. Hahaha Eric always has the new missionaries race him in the back yard and he always wins! we had a lot of fun.
Wednesday after DDM we went to lunch with Sister Rust and she invited Stacy Hansen and her youngest son who is 4! We were at a Mexican Restraunt and sister Borja started speaking to the waiter in Spanish and invited him to come to church! she also gave him a Mormon.org card. Having a Spanish speaking companion could really open some doors! After some tracting and trying to meet with some people we got call from John Douglas. He wanted us to come to dinner and have a lesson with him and his fiancé. Well we were running low on miles and he lives 20 miles away from us but I felt like we really needed to go. John is a less active member but is trying to come back. When we got there, he was gone so we talked to Eva. She hasn't been able to be baptized because they are not married and couldn't be married because of prior marriages that hadn't had the divorces completed. It has been a mess. When we got there we found out that they just needed one signature from the judge and then they could go on with getting married! She asked us some questions that she had as she had been studying the church and we cleared them up for her. From what I had been told she had been given all the lessons and was just waiting to get married so she could get baptized. When john got there we ate then had a lesson and I felt like I really needed to ask her if she had taken the lessons then before I asked John said Eva has had some questions and we think it would be good if she took the lessons! So now we are going to be teaching her all the lessons and really preparing her for baptism! They are praying together as a family and are teaching their little boy how to pray also. he is 2 and it is adorable!
On Thursday we rode bikes! we taught Rosily. She has such a desire to learn of Christ. She was raised Jewish. We also visited sister peeler who told us that she had a dr. apt and if she got it OKed she would like to come back to church again!
Friday we went to our Visiting teaching lunch with he sweetest ladies from the ward! Sister Brimhall, Martins, Edwards, and Steadman. We also got to attend a baptism of a little girl from the Jackson branch!
On Saturday while we were tracting we met the nicest man. At first he didn't really want to talk but he offered us some water. when he came out he sat down and taught him for 30 min. then he gave us some referrals! his name was John and he was Great!
Yesterday we after Church we met with joel. In the past he has been pretty argumentative and I was ready to be done teaching him. I prepared to drop him but we got there and he had all these questions and was so much more open! We will be going back! Todd and Debbie Hansen had us for dinner! We love them soo sooo much! we learn so much from them each time we are with them and they are just so loving.
I know this is the work I am supposed to be doing. In PMG it talks about listening with love. I know that all can benefit from this gospel and as we listen with Love the spirit will tell us what to teach them. We are all children of our heavenly Father and he wants us to return to him. The Work truly is hastening right now and we all need to be a part of it!. Don't get left be hind as this work progresses!
I LOVE Y'ALL SO MUCH! hope you have a great week!
