Hello!
This week had its ups and downs.
Monday was great, we had dinner with the Denson's. good old meat and potatoes! then we went to sister Berthelson's house to practice some lessons. I love being able to see the Lords hands on our life while we are out here. We talked about the plan of salvation and how she came to know it was true. She is always so grateful to have us visit her.
Tuesday morning was a little tough... Chris texted us and dropped us:( We went back to Sister Berthelson's to help her with some yard work. She is very knowledgeable and we always learn a lot when we are with her. our spirits are always lifted when we do service! :) Sister Hansen came with us to teach Jim and he is recognizing the spirit. we are going back over to his house today to teach! for dinner we went to the Robert's house. Brother Roberts is the ward mission leader and they are really nice.
Wednesday sister peeler asked us not to contact her or her niece anymore:( that was sad but hopefully she will come around again.
Thursday we had a note on our car that someone had backed into our car so we had to fill out a bunch of paperwork yay! We dropped by Jennifer and Randy's and set up an appointment for Friday and a church tour for Saturday. then we went to teach others. About half the people we tried to visit weren't home and the other half weren't available. But we were able to see Lydia, a less active. She is so sweet and always brightens our day!
Friday was about the same. Jennifer and randy cancelled again. But we were able to go to the Duncan's! Brother Duncan is a less active and his wife is a non member. we were able to answer questions that they had and talk about the importance of prayer and scripture study! It was a great lesson! :)
Saturday we were finally able to contact an investigator we have been trying to get ahold of since I got here. She set up an appointment for Saturday!!! we are excited to teach her. Jennifer came for the church tour and seems to like the way meetings are set up! hopefully she will make it to church sometime. We met with Joann and went over the restoration with her. she is a less active and we just love her! we also went to Frank and Minas, they are catholic and in their 80's but love learning about the church. Mina says if she was younger she would be Mormon lol and Frank has really changed his views on the church too. For dinner we were invited to go to a birthday dinner with a member was having for a less active at a non members house! It was fun and the other sisters in our area were able to share a great lesson!
Sunday we went to Mass with Frank and Mina! They were excited to have us there and introduced us to some of their friends. then they said they would have to come to our church sometime! Church was great as always and we had an early dinner at the Sorenson's! They invited a less active over (brownie points) and we talked to them about recognizing blessings. It was GREAT! We love when members invite their friends over when we are coming and we didn't even have to ask them to this time! We needed to tract for 10 more minutes to meet our mission standard of excellence and it seems like at the end of our 7 hours we always find someone to talk with. Joel was an interesting guy we talked with him for a long time and things were going ok but then he tried to bash with us so I just quit talking. Later I bore my testimony of the book of Mormon and we went our separate ways. I had kinda a bad feeling afterward just because I knew he wasn't really accepting what we were saying but I realize now that there are people who are ready that the lord has prepared and for now what we said to him was what he needed to hear. We went to teach a recent convert and while we were there the elders attacked our car. On the bright side zone conference is tomorrow and we needed to clean it anyway :)
I love being here and I am learning so much! I know that with faith and trusting in the Lord we can overcome all our trials! Heavenly Father answers prayers in his own due time.
Miss and love ya'll!
