You'd think I was pulling an "Elder Brown" on you lol since I haven't emailed yet!
Well here's an update on the weather... its starting to get humid and warmer and the bugs are here! and the bugs love me!!!
Monday was a holiday so we couldn't use the computers and then we had exchanges then meetings all day Wednesday so today was the first available day!
Last Tuesday we went to The Home Place. WE made valentines with the Elderly Ladies and men that live there. They loved having us there. after we were going to go tracting in an area on one side of town but both of us felt uneasy about it so we went to another area and found 2 potentials in a row! it was awesome! oh and we also got to teach early morning seminary! They class has all 4 grades together and they are great kids!
Wednesday we taught the lesson at our district meeting and we were fasting with a less active so we skipped lunch with our district. we taught about all the tools we've been given as missionaries and the need to use them! We broke our fast later than planned but the less active had a really good experience so we are very pleased:) hopefully as we keep working with her she will make it back to church. She took us out to dinner at the end of our fast.
Thursday we had some appointments cancel but we also saw success. This gospel bring so much joy! we tracted into 3 people that were ready and willing to listen! and I taught the first lesson on two of them! I'm getting better at this!
Friday we helped at the animal shelter with all the cute little puppies. it smelled horrible but the little dogs were cute! valentines day we didn't have much success tracting but that's ok we did our best. Karen a recent convert had us over for dinner and and we had a yummy stew that reminded me of Jen:)
On Saturday we met with our ward mission leader to see how we can become better connected with our ward. his wife made a delicious Vietnamese soup for us for lunch then we were off to tract. We took Bethany with us, she is a senior and is quite the go getter. we met some interesting people but not many that were interested. I'm sure we planted seeds though! later when we were tracting we met a man who knew sister schulthies from her last area. he didn't have a Book of Mormon yet so I gave him one. he knew a lot about the church and seemed open to the gospel but he was just visiting in Madison. then we were going to tract some more but sis schulthies felt that we needed to visit a less active whom we didn't know. When we got there she relayed to us that she had been upset with some people in the church and was trying to decide where to go to church. She said she had prayed the night before to know where to go to church and when we came she felt like we were her answer to her prayer. Her niece just moved in with her and wants to learn more about the gospel so we are teaching her now! Miracles really do happen!
Not much happened on Sunday but the hansens had us for dinner. Sister Hansen is so sweet and they talked to us about missionary work and what they are doing to help move the work along. TALK TO EVERYONE!
well I guess I'll tell the rest on Monday!
Don't forget I'd still love pictures! and I love love love ya!
I'm loving all the cards I've been getting some are just arriving from the MTC so I'm still getting birthday cards haha.
Love,
Sister Brown!
