Last Monday we had GUMBO! it was delicious! Sister Asay always makes such delicious food but I was a little skeptical of this because it was seafood... oh my goodness. AMAZING! and she always sends us home with extra so we enjoyed it on Tuesday as well. Monday we also got to teach a former investigator Donna. She is really sweet but when the elders left the area I think she got dropped now we are teaching her again! We also did a Family Home Evening lesson with Karen and her children. I had never met her kids because they are always with their dad on weekends.
Tuesday we were tracting and didn't have much luck. we went to a preachers home and wow he was pretty rude. He also told us we didn't have the same Jesus? we left and when we were walking on the other side of the street he came up to us. I got a little worried but he just asked us not to knock on a certain door. we left the neighborhood soon after that. WE went to visit Frank and mina which lifted our spirits. they are very sweet. I finally met sister Scott from the ward after we visited sister Stanford. While visiting sister Stanford her son who we have only met once actually participated in the lesson! we saw sister Scott outside so we went to say hello and she showed us all the work she had done in her garden! it was beautiful. We live in such a beautiful world!
Wednesday when we arrived at DDM, President and Sister McDonough and Elder and Sister Edwards were there. That was a sweet surprise! we love them so much! After, we went to lunch with the district Then we taught Wanda. Even though she was baptized she doesn't understand a lot about the gospel and she doesn't go to church anymore so we are trying to help her gain a better understanding. Well she goes to church just not the LDS Church. It seems to be a common trend around here. So we are trying to do a lot of activation work around here. While we were tracting We met a man who had been to the church before! his surgeon is in our ward and teaches every one of his patients about the gospel! its really neat. We met a few other potentials and when I stepped forward to shake one of their hands, I stepped on an ant hill. fortunately I stepped off fast and only got bit 3 or 4 times. The Johnston's had us for dinner and we were supposed to be there with the little girl and her mother who just got baptized.... the moved with out telling anyone! but we had a good dinner anyway.
Thursday we tried a lady we were going to drop and she was out working in the yard so we were finally able to get in contact with her. but she was busy working in the yard so she couldn't talk... We just went home got work clothes and came back to help. now she is taking us to dinner sometime this week and we will talk with her then:) We met a man while tracting who invited us right in! we were able to share the whole message of the restoration with him! it was great! That night some STLs stayed at our place because they had a meeting on Friday and lived near the coast. Both of them were sister schulthies' old companions so they had a nice little reunion.
Friday we saw Stephanie. Her husband is a member and her mom is a member but she is not. we are working with her. It was really neat to be able to just meet with her. there was a movie night at the church. we couldn't go but we invited some people and found out that one showed up! that was exciting!
Saturday was CONFERENCE!!!! It was great!
Sunday we were invited to watch conference at presidents house! they made us breakfast and we enjoyed conference on a comfy couch! then in between sessions we visited sister peeler. She is doing so much better and back to being more open to member visitors! Yay! Back to president house we went. This time we were going to go through the garage but the were working on transfers so we ran back to the car and waited a bit then went to the front door lol. President and sister McDonough are just the sweetest! I love them so much! Dinner was at the Hansens home. Id never been there. and have been warned that they like to tease... hmm sounds like home lol. anyway we had a lot of fun and I was asked to give the thought... on my own! well it went well thankfully. We went to another members home to pick up info for seminary. we are teaching tomorrow! They asked us to share our testimonies with their girls because they had just talked about testimonies. It was such a sweet experience! then we got a flash flood warning that ended our day and we had to go home!
Well I love you all but Ive got to go! have a great week!
