What a week! Well on Wednesday I had made it 9 months since I entered the MTC! That's crazy! At the beginning of my mission I never thought that day would come! It came really fast!
On Monday we thought the libraries were all closed. That's why I emailed so late on Monday. We were supposed to hang out as a district for our pday but the sand hill sisters had a bad experience with a haircut that day so they were coming late and the elders had an appointment with someone so they needed to end the day early. District pday got cancelled. Or so we thought:) The Sand Hill Sisters had already gotten permission to spend the night so they would be closer for zone conference and they had to go practice a song that was being performed for ZC at the church so we went with them then did our grocery shopping. when we got home The weather got bad and there was lightning and lots of rain! The elders came over to check on us and make sure everything was ok. little did we know there was a tornado watch too! well then we went and danced in the rain and jumped in the puddles like we were three! it was so much fun!!!!!!!!!! The lightning was amazing! when we came in soaking wet the elders had left and we went in to have our girls night! It was fun:) but of course we were asleep quickly! Elder Zwick was coming the next morning for a 5 zone conference! It was like the night before Christmas for missionaries!
Tuesday morning we were up early and out the door by 7:05! Yes 4 sisters were able to be completely ready and in the car only 5 minutes after we had planned to be in the car! We should win some kind of an award i think haha. Each missionary was able to shake Elder Zwick's hand and then his wife's. We learned so much from him and we weer spiritually fed. He left us a promise. If we start our week (every monday night) with at least one lesson with a member present, we would double our baptisms in the mission! Now that will take some extra planning and work on both our and the members part but it will be so worth it! We had one lined up for tonight but it fell through! Fear not we scheduled another one for today! pray it works out! I love this work! It takes alot of work and alot of faith but we are so very blessed. Fter the conference we had dinner with Kieth and Donna Hill. We told them about our new monday night goal and they are on board to help us out!
Sister McDonough also spoke to us and reminded us once again to get our flu shots so we could stay healthy and be more effective missionaries since we are constantly around many different people and shaking lots of hands so I celebrated my half way mark with a flu shot! Yay! Well that was painful. not the shot but the aftermath of the shot. I couldnt move my arm with out it hurting terribly bad. I pushed on though and we tracted for 1.5 hours, unfortunately with no success except for 2 dogs who really liked us and followed us the whole way!
Thursday we went to teach katelin again. I think we shocked her. even though she had asked us to come that day she must have forgotten because we showed up and she was not expecting us. the lesson was a little crazy because of the surprise but when she prays she always says that she heard exactly what she needed. Sad sad story time... Later we were walking and this little dog ran right in front of us and then got hit my a car right before our eyes. we were in shock! It was so so sad. then we went to visit russel who told us that his girls were back with their mom so that was sad too! There was a parade in town that day so while we were walking down the road we were able to talk to some people waiting for the parade to start! yay! We had dinner at the Andersons but had to leave quickly for a lesson that ended upp not happening than we went back to the andersons to share a lesson with them
Fiday we were finally able to teach Lindsey! She was a refferal from the elders but we could never catch her at a good time. the lesson was great and she loves to talk! After 3 hours of tracting, we went to a musical fireside that some missionaries had put on in Sand Hill. It was beautifully done!
saturday was a good full day as well! We had lunch with the Bergmans:) they are great and we had a yummy salad. Bishop is very missionary minded and loves to help wherever he can.
Sunday at church lots of people were released and lots of callings were extended! The 1st councilor of the Bishoprick was realeased then called as our ward Mission leader! Nancy Schmitz who is a less active we found was called as a primary teacher. She is very excited. And Brother Houser was called into the bishoprick! we love his family! Some great changes. I love the organization of the church! I also got some more sad news about little dead dog... We think it was a members dog! the elders told me that sunday night. Well hes in doggy heaven now.
The week was wonderful! Even when things dont go as we had planned for them to go, we can see the lords hand in this work that we are doing. We are so blessed. I love this Gospel so very much! I hope yall went to see Meet the mormons!
Love yall! have a great week until next time!
