Monday, despite all of our and the members efforts, we did not have an appointment monday night with a member present. Dan and Monica Moore had us over for dinner and called 3 different people to join us but none were able to come:( Tonight should work though!
Tuesday morning Melba Tisdale picked us up and we went out to visit Selena McCardle. It was perfect because selenas mom came over too and she hasnt been to church since she moved to petal. Selena hurt her back and had alot of dr. appointments but should have been able to go back today! yay! She realized how much reading the scriptures improves her day so that was wonderful also! we love to hear that! keep on reading:)
Wednesday we had DDM then right after we had cleaning checks. We had been warned that the new couple who checks apartments was very strict and that they even check to see if there is dust on the fans... Well I was hoping to get back from DDm before they arrived just to double check everything but they were early and waiting for us. They said our apartment looked so wonderful and they gave us the award. then they told us ofall the apartment they had checked since they had been there we were only the second to get the award! bet you never thought I would be one of the clean people lol! then when we were tracting and no body had been talking to us I said to sister boehula I wish someone would just talk to us! the next house we went up to there was a lady in her garage who was wearing a lava lava and we knew she was an islander! anyway she is from Samoa and is not a member but her brother who is the only member in the family is serving a mission. He has been gone since June and she hasnt heard from him once! he has only sent one letter to his family in samoa! I felt so bad for her but she was so excited to see us and she said so this is what my brother is doing? and we got to teach her:) her Name is Rosa! She is the kindest person in the world!
Thursday was our walking day. halfway through Sister Boehula could barely walk because she had massive blisters on her feet. we taught Russel and had dinner with the chennaults. They are amazing people.
Friday we were supposed to go back to teach russel but he was busy so he told us to come back in an hour. We went tracting and found this awesome guy that said he isnt going to church right now because he wants to find the truth! he was awesome and said we could come back anytime! we went back to russels but he didnt answer the door:( We headed over to nancys and taught her and helped her with a few things.
Saturday we left the apt. at 7:30 am for our stake day of service. When we got to the church I was asked to make sandwhiches for all the missionaries then we went to our different assignments. We went to beautify a park. We spread mulch then there was this huge wall that needed to be painted but first we had to chip all the old paint off and scrub all the mildew off. I never thought we would finish but we did and it looked great!
Sunday we tracted for over 3 hours and not a single person talked to us but it was a beautiful day! During church we gotto go to Young Women to talk to them about temples. Sister Boehula shared her story about the sacrifices her family had to make to get to the temple to be sealed. There is no temple in Vanuatu so the closest one is in figi which is a 3 hour flight then a 6 hour bus ride away. They had to sell their home to be able to go and be sealed as a family. She truely loves the temple and the Spirit was so strong as she shared her experiences. What a blessing it is to have temples so close to us here in the US.
Well have a great week! I know I will. Love yall!
