Wow I have so much to be thankful for!
This week was wonderful. I am so thankful for...
A loving Mission president and his wife. President and Sister McDonough are some of the most loving and kind people that I know. I am grateful to be serving with them. They uplift daily. I know that they truely care about each and every one of there missionaries and they know us all. all 200 of us:)
The Petal Ward. This week we had 4 lessons with a member present. That's wonderful and we could not have done it with out the willingness of members in our ward. The petal ward is like my home away from home. I love them and I know that they love me. I love serving them! On Sunday we had 2 investigators and 2 less actives that we have been working with at church and the ward was there to greet and welcome them. Oh and of course they feed us and fix things for us and make sure to make our holidays just as special as theirs. We have multiple invitations for Thanksgiving:)
Sister Boehula! and all my other companions. I have learned so much from each and everyone of them. They are helping me become the servant that the Lord wants me to become. I have had the most wonderful companions. each unique and each an example to me. I'm grateful for their patience with me:)
Brother Chennault. Really. We have the best ward mission leader ever. He is so willing and excited to help the work move right along. He is truly a servant of the Lord. and his wife fixed my rain coat! I love the Chennaults. They take really good care of the missionaries.
Warm clothes. we have had some really really cold days and some on days that we had to walk all day. I'm thankful that I was able to bundle up and continue to do the work.
Heavenly Father's community angels. We were walking by the highway the other day and we were running late for a meeting and a lady we know saw us and picked us up in our "chariot" to take us to the meeting. Then we were only a few minutes late! and on Friday we were walking at night and this cute little dog started following us. we tried to get it to go home (we didnt know where it lived) but it just kept following us. Then it ran in the road and got hit. yes another dog got hit right in front of us. but it was still alive. I went to get it out of the road and realized its back legs were broken but we were pretty sure it would live. We didnt know what to do though. we tried to call humane societies but no luck so i called the elders. they came and we had to leave for an appointment we had. they found a vet that took the pup in and she is doing much better now Heavenly Father sends us angels:)
My Family. They mean the world to me. I am thankful everyday that Heavenly Father sent me to the ever growing family I have to teach me and love me. Their kindness and thoughts make me smile daily. Around my apartment I have little things they have sent me that remind me of them:) I am so blessed. my family is the Best:)
My missionary friends. We have so much fun when we get together! They uplift and love serving the Lord.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ and the message I have been trusted to share daily. The work is hard but the fruit is sweet. it is a joy to teach people of the restoration of the gospel. I know that we can find no greater joy than by living the gospel.
Our Savior Jesus Christ. He is the perfect example for each of us. Because of His infinite Atonement each of us will have immortality and if we live his gospel to the best of our ability, we will have eternal life.
this is one of my favorite scriptures. it is in 2 Nephi 25
23For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.
26 And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.
The Book of Mormon. Another testament of Jesus Christ. Each day I read it and each time it teaches me more about my Savior and brings me closer to Him. If you haven't read it lately give it a chance with an open heart and mind and it will change your life. It has Changed mine. Thank you mom for teaching me the importance of it. I love having the opportunity to share it with the South:)
Thanks to my Seminary teachers for putting up with us and teaching us. I use things I learn from you on a daily basis. I admire each of you:)
The world around us. It's all a miracle. We may never fully understand it but it turns us back to our Savior. He, under the direction of our loving Heavenly Father, created it so that we could receive our bodies and experience joy and exercise out agency. This is where we learn and we change and its all possible because of Him:)
Heavenly Father. He blesses me each day.
There is so much more that I am thankful for but I am running out of time.
I do hope y'all have a Happy Thanksgiving and remember who made it all possible for us. I am Blessed to know each one of you:)
Keep on smiling:)
