This week was great. Most weeks are... Serving the Lord, What could be better.
Ok so I'm going to start at Sunday and work backwards cause I remember Sunday best and maybe the other days will come to me as I type. Sunday I forgot my name tag! we left for ward council at 8:20 and I realized as I was driving that I was tag-less and got teased by a few times by some members. Being teased makes me feel at home. Like Mike always says, "We only tease you because we love you." I guess the ward members love me right? After church we had a linger longer. Joel was at church and for the first time stayed all three hours. Mara was also there and is still looking forward to Saturday! We are actually headed to her place in just a bit to help her shop for a new modest dress for her baptism! We all stayed after church for a linger longer for Blake Bradburn who will be serving in Panama starting July 9th! He will be a great missionary. We headed over to an appointment we had with a man named Seth. He was very respectful and very knowledgeable so he had LOTS of questions. We will be returning to teach more after the 4th of July and they invited us to have dinner with their little family. They have a cute 6 month old baby boy:) Tracting in the south means HOT HOT HOT! but after tracting for over an hour and being turned away at every door, we realized we were on a members road and got a nice big glass of ice water from Brother Hill. Dinner was at Greg and Stephanie Allmans. They are a really fun Young Family!
Saturday we taught Mara! We just love her so much! While we were tracting we met a woman named Linda. She was really interested in what we shared with her. Especially that There were apostles on the earth today. She was great! We drove to Canton to contact a few referrals and ended up finding lots of people to teach! It was wonderful! Janae was the first person we taught and in the middle of teaching she asked, " You're not scared to be here?" I asked if we should be and she just said well this neighborhood is the safest one. That was comforting. But every person we came across was very very nice and respectful! Before dark we left the area. WE headed to an appointment with a referral in rural Mississippi. Its what I always envisioned the State to be like. It was Beautiful! Corn fields and green Everywhere. The appointment went well and of course we had to correct a few rumors.
Friday We did service at the Branham's. We painted with the other sisters. Their son wanted to paint to so I helped him. He's 3 and precious! Dinner was with the Akers. They are great. They took all 6 missionaries to a southern food buffet. We headed to sister Tacos to teach her daughter in law.
Thursday we walked ALOT! We taught a few people and then went to Sarah Allmans for dinner. When we got there we found out it was her birthday. We were honored to join her in the celebration!
Wednesday we saw Paula again. This time she had LOTS of really good questions. We went to the Clements for dinner and said goodbye. they are leaving town for a month!
Tuesday we contacted some great referrals! 2 of them have had contact with the church through friends and the seeds were planted so they wanted to learn more.
Keep up the missionary work at home. I love you all! Have a great week.
