Saturday was a perfect day. So So So perfect! Mara got baptized! She has been having a hard time with her family being so against her joining the church and on Saturday morning her twin sister started really questioning her and said she was taking the car that they share. So her sister just dropped her off at the church and Mara said she was in a pretty gloomy mood but as soon as she walked into the church she said she just felt so so happy. Of course when we saw her she had the biggest smile on her face which lasted throughout the morning. Minus a second when we told her the baptism couldn't be recorded. As soon as we explained it to her she was totally fine. I was a little worried about how many people would come since it was starting at 9am on the day after Independence Day but as 9am rolled around the room was full! It was so wonderful. People from the ward and people from her institute class came as well as one of her friends, the only friend who has really supported her through this. It was great to see so much support. I gave the talk on baptism then her Institute teacher, brother sanders baptized her. Sister Borja gave the talk on the Gift of the Holy Ghost. When Mara was baptized she had the biggest smile on her face and even giggled a little. that's just her personality. it was wonderful! Brother North welcomed her into the ward and talked about how she is now part of the ward family! With everything going on I hope that gave her comfort. After everything was over, breakfast refreshments were served. I love the Madison Ward! So that's that. First Baptism on the mission/ Happiest moment of the past 6 months!
Sister Borja and I headed to Canton right after the baptism and met Some really neat people then went to flora and set Eva with a baptismal date!
Sunday when we showed up to church there were exactly 4 people there... they were all missionaries! Church started and Mara wasn't to be found. we got a meesage from her shortly after saying that she was just stuck behind a slow driver. But we didn't see Chad Hill either who was supposed to be confirming her. Well mara showed up and we looked and looked around and finally chad came in right before she was getting confirmed! The confirmation was perfect too! Mara is the newest member of the Madison Ward! Sister Borja and I may be the Happiest missionaries in the mission:)
Other than that the week was kinda slow but it was good:) We helped the branhams paint again and had dinner with members almost every night!
