Lets see... we had a pretty good week.
Tuesday we hung out with the Elders and played board games! Since it was our Preparation day. Pictionary reminded me of home but it was so fun! I was the only one who had played with the board instead of just drawing a picture. so I got to explain it to everyone. Elder Huntsman and I lost but we didn't cheat! The others did lol. Then we went to our dinner appointment. when we got there half the home was sick so the mom had prepared everything wrapped it all up and handed it to us and we were gone. She didn't want us to catch their cold or whatever it was.
Wednesday we had DDM then we all wanted to try out Mamma Hamil's. Its Southern food all you can eat buffet... Hmm yeah not too healthy but people here rave about it. I wasn't impressed but I had to try some of everything right!? Fried Okra was probably my favorite. I also tried fried liver but I wasn't brave enough to try fried gizzard. Needless to say we ate too much then realized we had a dinner appointment only 4 hours later... We went out an appointment but she wasn't home so we met with a few other people and did some tracting. while tracting we met Leslie! She let us in and we taught her the restoration. we have an appointment to go back tomorrow! We got a call from a lady we had met last month. while we were there we didn't really think she was listening to anything that we were saying but I guess she did listen to something and she read the Restoration pamphlet we gave her. She had really bad migraines at the time but wanted us to come back so she could ask us some questions! Dinner was at the Branhams. Love them! We made it to the last few minutes of BOM class and John and Eva were there! yay. John is a returning member and Eva his GF is investigating. After we went to visit Sister Kassel. remember how much we had already eaten? yeah well when we got to the Kassels, they hadn't eaten yet so they asked us to join them... ummmm no thank you. but I followed Sister Schulthies to the table and food was put on my plate. I tried some Dirty rice. its also a southern thing and its pretty good.
Thursday we woke up and we were sick! Something (or somethings) we ate didn't agree with us. well we had to do a service and we had an appointment so we went out anyway. Once we were out we couldn't return because of miles and by then we were feeling even worse so we pulled over on an old old road that hardly ever got used and slept. We drove some more and wet to canton to find some medicine. Then we drove to Raytown for our appointment and slept until 6. Raytown is about 65 miles round trip from our apartment but not on highways. when we got there we got a call saying they weren't coming! Kevin didn't feel like he could come because he didn't have a dress shirt. when we explained to him he didn't need one they said they were on their way! so we waited some more. The lesson was good and we set him with a baptismal date! Its my first one!!! yay! April 19th.
Friday we were healthy again! Jennifer and Randy Dropped us:( but said they still want to check out church. they just want to do it their own way. unfortunately they still weren't there sunday. Dinner was at the Allmans. we had another southern dish called Red Beans and rice it was pretty yummy. Then we went to sister Berthelsons house for a lesson.
Saturday we were supposed to go to flora to see John and Eva with a member but they cancelled. So we tracted and we met Richard! He was so open to what we were saying and got emotional as we taught him. He said he would read the Book of Mormon after we shared a few verses with him. Dinner was at the Cyrus's. That family loves this gospel soo soo sooo much.
And sunday we met a few potential investigator while tracting after church. All of them had had contact with members in their lifetime. Planting seeds is SO important! The Hansens had all 6 missionaries over for dinner. We love them so much! She was Just called as YW President! the myers made us banana bread so we went to pick it up and were able to share a message as well. they are one of the many families that are moving soon.
I love this gospel. I know that as we rely on our lord through our struggles he will strengthen us!
Love y'all!
